Top 10 Toys for Boys

If we could only have 10 toys in our house, these would be them.  Out of all our toys, our boys get the most mileage out of these ten:

Plasma Car
1. Plasma Cars - These are fun for kids and adults.  They never get boring and they are a great energy burner.  We use ours mainly outside but on days when we are stranded in the house due to weather, I sometimes let the kids bring them in and race them around the dining room table.

wedgits
2. Wedgits - At first appearance Wedgits might not look like much but this toy actually means countless hours of unique building fun.  If you don't own any, I recommend starting out with at least a 30 piece set.

3. Legos - We would be so lost without our Lego sets.  They get played with nearly every single day.  It's one of those toys that never seems to get old.  Other toys I have to circulate in and out of the house every so often to keep the kids' interest but Legos are a constant fixture in our home.  If you don't have any, I suggest starting with a bucket of duplos (for kids 3 and under) or regular legos (for kids 4 and over) and building your collection by adding sets to that.

4. A Train Set - Our train sets get played with a lot.  If I had to choose one for them, the Fisher Price Geotrax probably gets used the most but we also love our Thomas Take Along Sets.   When they get a little older, we will probably replace those train sets with a nice Lionel Train Set.

Play Tent and Tunnel
5. Play Tent and Tunnel - Another toy with endless opportunities for play.  They can read books in their, pretend their camping, play house, race through the tunnel, and do just about anything else their imaginations can come up with.

Mini Trampoline
6.  Mini Trampoline - Even though we have a full size trampoline outside, the mini trampoline has probably been one of the best purchases ever.  A major outlet for their energy on days when we are stranded in the house.

Show here is the Galt Toys Folding Trampoline, which is one of the top rated mini trampolines for kids at Amazon.com.

7. Wild Planet Hyper Dash - Toys that require batteries aren't usually my favorite but this toy is so much fun.  Set up the discs and then race to tag them as the computer calls them out.  The boys can play it alone or race against each other to see who can get the best time.  I love that it can be used inside or out and the boys burn off a lot of energy while having fun.  Because you can set it up differently every time you play, it never grows old.

Automoblox - Mini 3 Pack Set
8. Automoblox - Fun wooden cars that double as a puzzle and a building toy.  What more could you ask for?  I love toys that have multiple purposes and the boys never get tired of taking these cars apart and building new cars from the pieces.

Bilibo
9. Bilibo - The first time I saw this thing in the toy store I thought the same thing many other parents did...."What the heck is it?".  But my two year old was incredibly drawn to it so I bought him one for Christmas and all my questions were answered.  Bilibo is a toy to sit in, spin in, sled in, pull toys in, stand on, pretend to be a turtle with, race cars in, and so much more.   So weird and cool yet entertaining.

Snap Circuits Jr Kit
10.  Snap Circuits Jr. Kit - One of the best science toys out there in my opinion.  The kit includes everything you need to create just over 100 projects.  Everything from a fan to a flying saucer or police siren.

Kids as young as 5 should be able to follow the instruction booklet with minimal or no help from adults to create the fun projects.  The Junior kit, show here sells for under $25 but Snap Circuit also makes other kits including the SC-300 and the SC-500 kits which have 300 and 500 projects respectively.  If you start with the Junior kit and want to upgrade, add on kits are also available.
